What is FCRM 2.0?
FCRM 2.0 is the new Florida Certified Records Manager Certification program of the Florida Records Management Association (FRMA). The previous program was dissolved on December 31, 2021. FCRM 2.0 began on January 1, 2022.
How do I become a FCRM?
Review the FCRM Candidate Evaluation Criteria to determine your eligibility to obtain the FCRM.
Where can I find the FCRM application form?

When will the FCRM exam be offered?
The FCRM exam will be offered once per year at FRMA's annual conference, which is held each May.
Will an online option for testing be offered?
No virtual testing options are available at this time.
What is the format of the FCRM exam?
The exam will consist of fifty (50) multiple choice questions.
Will there be a time limit for the exam?
You will have one (1) hour to complete the exam.
What should I study before taking the exam?
Exam questions will be derived from the following:
Florida records management requirements in Florida Administrative Code 1B-24 and 1B-26
What is the minimum required score to pass the exam?
A minimum score of 70% is required to pass the exam.
Is there a fee for the FCRM exam?
An application fee of $50.00 is required. The fee is nonrefundable, regardless of application approval or denial. To submit the fee, please click the application fee link on the FCRM Program Information page. You may pay online with a credit card, or select "Bypass payment" after creating your application fee order and include a check, made payable to Florida Records Management Association, with your application form. Please include a copy of your online application fee order with your application.
How do I maintain my FCRM certification after earning it?
To maintain your FCRM certification, you must earn thirty-six (36) CEU’s every five (5) years. You must also remain a FRMA member in good standing.
How do I earn CEU’s to maintain my FCRM certification?
Most often, credits will be earned by attending FRMA conferences. The annual FRMA conference, held each May, typically provides eighteen (18) CEU’s In some instances, other opportunities for CEUs will be offered throughout the year.
Do I have to take specific sessions to earn CEU’s?
No, specific sessions at the conferences are not required. Once an event has been approved for FCRM CEU’s, you will receive the designated number of hours.
Do I have to sign in at each conference session to earn my CEU’s?
No, you only need to check in at the registration desk once when you arrive. You will receive the designated number of CEU’s for that conference. If you are not registered for the full conference, you will receive the designated number of CEU’s for the day(s) in which you are registered. (Please note that some speakers send a sign-in sheet around the room to determine how many people attended the session. However, no sign-in sheets are required for your CEU’s).
I was a FCRM before the exam was instituted. When does my recertification period begin?
All current FCRM’s began the new 5-year recertification period as of January 1, 2022.
I am already a FCRM. My most recent transcript shows that I need some specific sessions to re-certify. Is that accurate?
You may disregard any required sessions listed on your most current transcript. The requirement of specific sessions has been eliminated. You need only to earn the required number of CEU’s within the allotted time. As a current FCRM, you are beginning a new 5-year, 36 CEU recertification period under the new FCRM program, FCRM 2.0.
